LAS VEGAS, The Players Network (OTC Bulletin Board: PNTV - News; www.playersnetwork.com) announced today that the company has completed production on the first-ever live programming from the World Series of Poker(R). Under the direction of Emmy(R) Award winning director Marty Corwin, Players Network went live six hours a day to a potential audience of more than 100 million broadband-enabled subscribers worldwide. In addition, the company also completed four days of production of original television programming from the World Series of Poker(R) Lifestyle Show at the Rio Hotel and Casino.
Created on four large-scale sets, Players Network's programming included various talk show formats, poker educational seminars, and unique poker lifestyle entertainment that involved poker and entertainment celebrities including Jennifer Tilly, James Caan, Gabe Kaplan, Doyle Brunson, Todd Brunson, Bobby Baldwin, Mike Sexton, Vincent Van Patten, Phil Laak, Marcel Luske, Jennifer Harmon, Layne Flack, Clonie Gowan, Chris Moneymaker, Greg Raymer, Eric Seidel, Daniel Negreanu, Johnny Chan, Phil Gordon, John Hennigan, Cyndy Violette, Chris Ferguson and Annie Duke.
This announcement comes on the heels of Players Network entering the wireless arena and announcing that the company's more than 30 hours of new and original programming will be produced for broadband, Video On Demand and further distribution channels.
The company also announced that since the broadband network's launch just 7 days ago, it has already registered consumers in 36 countries.
All programming was Executive Produced by Michael Berk and Mark Bradley of Players Network, and produced by Ed Winfield of Stella Productions.
At the World Series of Poker(R) Lifestyle Show, Players Network presented The Players Network Lifetime Achievement Award for Poker to poker legend Doyle Brunson, which will heretofore be known as the "Doyle Brunson Lifetime Achievement Award," and announced during a press conference that actor and gaming enthusiast James Caan has joined Players Network as its company spokesman and an entertainment business advisor.
